This (up to) five-person, Selectmen-appointed committee is responsible for supporting the Lincoln
Minute Men
in their
Patriot's Day activities
as well as coordinating Lincoln's Memorial Day
observance, the July 4th festivities and the
Pierce Park Summer Concert Series.
July 4th Festivities - The day-long July 4th festivities are, without a doubt, Lincoln's
biggest event. It features an old-fashioned
Fire Fighters Pancake breakfast, a childrens' bicycle parade, a small- town
parade featuring town committee floats and a parade Grand Marshal,
many sports activities, an evening spectacular fireworks extravaganza.
Memorial Day Observances - are held on
Memorial Day beginning at 10 am, in front of the Public Library.
Residents are invited to join Lincoln's American Legion and Veterans
of Foreign Wars for a ceremony that includes a brief parade from Bemis
Hall to the library, followed by the laying of the Memorial Wreath,
firearm salute, invocation, keynote speech, and refreshments.
