The department is responsible for maintaining the roads, the transfer station, cemeteries, town-owned recreation properties and trees on all town property, except for those on conservation land.  Snow removal, tree and brush removal, street cleaning, town vehicle maintenance, drainage projects, pothole patching, some road paving and general clean-up also fall within its jurisdiction.   In addition, the DPW built the new recycling center at the Transfer Station in 1998 and completed approximately 400 work orders.

Transfer Station Operations:
The transfer station is open Wednesdays and Saturdays between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm
