This five-person board is responsible for a variety of land use issues, including subdivision review and certain development proposals requiring special permits and site plans.  Proposed changes to zoning or to the Zoning Bylaw are heard by the Planning Board, which may also initiate these changes.

The Planning Board also provides recommendations on petitions before the Board of Appeals, such as those seeking permits for accessory apartments or special uses.  Working together with the Selectmen, the Planning Board and its subcommittees are involved in long-range and regional planning concerns, traffic control issues and the establishment of roadside paths.

The Planning Board also consults with the Conservation Commission on land use matters of mutual concern

Current Members: Robert Domnitz, Ephraim Flint, Ken Hurd, John Snell, Bryce Wolf
